Hand Painted Kitchen Alvechurch, Worcestershire
This Clive Christian kitchen was housed in a fabulously refurbished farmhouse in Alvechurch – a large village and civil parish in the Bromsgrove district in northeast Worcestershire. It was originally installed some sixteen years ago and painted in the ever popular (back then) cream colour and treated to a deep glaze to give additional depth to the elaborate detailing throughout… we see quite a few examples of this treatment; over the years the cream paint just seems to get yellower and yellower. Not particularly to modern taste. Our clients have impeccable style and have developed and renovated their home to an extremely high standard throughout and so turned their attention to the kitchen.
After contacting the manufacturer for a quotation to undertake the necessary work to Hand Paint their kitchen, they contacted us for a comparison. They provided photographs and requested information. We swiftly prepared a quotation and our clients found that we were over three times more affordable, we were local and had a more thorough approach to painting their kitchen… their kitchen would be in very safe hands!
We need to be upfront here; if you contact us with a project, there is often a wait; we tend to be on average six to nine months booked in advance (we like to think that we are worth the wait!). Our clients were happy with this and settled down awaiting our call.
On the first day of the project, we remove all doors and drawer fronts and anything else that is removable. These items get treated to four coats of furniture specific paint at our workshops. The carcasses get the same, but on-site, we use our 99.9% dust-free sanding system to prepare once we have thorough degreased the substrate.
Speaking of colour. We are able, via our suppliers, to offer a bespoke colour tinting service – show us “any” colour and we can have this mixed into our preferred paint bases in a variety of sheen levels.
Once dry, all components are reassembled, and our client’s “new” kitchen is ready for action.
In this project, the original bespoke Clive Christian handles were reattached, but we do offer an added service of fitting new handles and knobs, when required, for a small additional fee.
As you will see from the photographs the new paint finish on the kitchen looks incredible, Hand Painted and as flawless as possible, yet still retaining the flow and direction of the paint across the surface (unlike a sprayed finish).
Our clients were delighted with their “new” kitchen and couldn’t wait to show it off to their friends and family. Quite right too we think!
